CONTACT: erwin.smith@compass.net MESSAGE:This is Commander Erwin Smith. I would like a word with you. Would you meet me in one of the common rooms tonight?
[After the initial few days of the power swap and getting used to having nearly no one see him, along with the lack of his usual magic and powers, Zelos had settled down. He was still tense of course, and he wouldn't be happy with things until his crystal was returned to him and out of reach of anyone else, but at least now he knew that there was nothing else he could do. Not now.
It was better to find things to distract himself. And when you're invisible to most people, it's even easier to spy on people than it would be normally (even with his super vision and hearing aside!).
Annie seemed to be alone more often than not when he ran into her, but it was hard to ignore her admiring something like hair pins. ...She didn't even end up taking any.
So he'll spend his time selecting out the cutest and most fitting ones himself, placing them into a box he'd swiped from beneath the counter and eventually setting off to find her. He'd already learned in past weeks where everyone's rooms were-- the people he'd kept an eye on, at least-- and so once he found the right spot and assured she was inside at this exact moment, he pulled out his pocket watch for a message.]
Hey hunny!
I just happened to see this shop was opened when I was passing by, so I picked out some that I think would really suit you. Even if things are a little crazy around here, there's no hurt in little enjoyments like this, right?
Check the box outside your door.
♥ Zelos
P.S. If you don't accept them as my heartfelt gift, I might cry!
[And with that said and done, he sets the box down, steps back, and leans comfortably against the wall. So maybe he wants to see the reaction. So what?]
[ Apparently things were going down—as she had been warned by some random person on the network—but didn’t concern her too much. She felt fine and that’s all that mattered in the end. As long as she was good and nothing happened to her, then the rest of the inhabitants of this place could continue being confused until the end of days. There might be some sort of lingering feeling for her roommate suffering the pains of being unable to produce any “electricity” but somehow, Annie felt like this would only be another temporary thing.
Thusly why she finds herself resting in her room—there was nothing out there for her to do anyway. The shops had been nice but…it wasn’t as if she needed anything from them. She was just about to take a nap when her watch began to buzz. Now, she hadn’t exactly figured out how to properly use this despite having a few weeks with it but all the same she fiddles with it and eventually gets to the message.
As she reads the message, she can’t help but frown at it. Zelos… Really, his behavior towards her has been really confusing. She doesn’t understand it. Still, the point of the message was for her to receive his gift right? With a sigh, she gets up from her bed and walks over to the door and sure enough, there was a little box at her doorstep. He said he was going to cry if she didn’t accept it, didn’t he? Annie didn’t care one way or another but…at least she had to see what it was.
It was a hairpin.
A cute hairpin…much too cute for her and the more she stared at it the more flustered she found herself. It was small blessings that she was alone and no one could see the look on her face. There was no way anything like this suited her. ]
[It's clear right away from how she opens the door and her gaze doesn't linger on him the slightest that he's not visible. The assumption with that for now is that he can't be heard, as well, but as he watches her for a moment, there's a point he reaches where he can't just stand by quietly.]
Come on, now, you shouldn't be making a face like that. Just try it on! Indulge a little!
[It's cheery, light and encouraging even while expecting it to be completely unnoticed. And he's stepping closer and around her just slightly to observe more closely, eyes drifting between Annie and the box in her hands.] It's not up to ourselves to decide what we do or don't deserve.
Well...I've only been here for a handful of days. Eren and Mikasa and the Commander have only told me so much about this place, but I feel bad bothering them, especially when they seem so busy here. I know I shouldn't bother you but you've always been rather nice to me so I thought I could ask you a few questions.
[ He hasn't seen her since everything went down in that small city—she'd ignored his messages then, and she's ignoring his messages now. And maybe she needed her space. Most people do. But most people also can't be alone for the rest of their lives (not here, not where being alone is almost certainly death), and by now it's ridiculous. Even if she doesn't need it (or even want it), he worries. They're friends, or at least he thinks so, and that makes it his prerogative to be concerned.
Even if it—their friendship, his concern—goes completely unrequited, Eren's never been very good at letting other people's opinions sway his hand. He knocks heavily on Annie's door, because 'i didn't hear it' wouldn't be an acceptable excuse later, speaking loudly enough to be heard over the wood. ]
Annie, open up—I'll wait out here all day if I have to.
[ Eren rarely lies, and there's not the slightest trace of a joke in his tone. ]
[ Everything has been weird ever since those few weeks ago where she died (and killed). In some ways, she desperately wanted to talk to someone about it all, but at the same time, she couldn't. At least she still had a roommate to make noise and casually converse with her from time to time regardless of everything.
And then there was Eren...
With each knock, there's a reply she wishes she could say. All of them being varying degrees of her rejecting him in some sort of fashion. For a moment, she even decides to ignore him completely and test just how willing he was to stay outside of her door. But sooner or later, Mikoto would return and definitely wouldn't be against letting Eren into their room.
She didn't want to deal with both of them at the same time. Honestly, she didn't want to deal with anyone. Still sitting in the corner of her bed, Annie concedes and while she doesn't make any movements towards the door, she at least answers him. If he wanted to talk to her so badly, then could do it through the door. ]
